We visited Vancouver approaching December, and to say it was magical was an understatement. From the attractions to the wonderful people, we had an amazing time! Here are some things we got to do on our visit there.
1. Capilano Suspension Bridge Park
Enjoy a great outdoor experience, rain or shine, at the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park! During the holidays, you will find the entire area lit up beautifully, holiday themed music, and the smell of hot cocoa throughout the whole tour. There are restaurants, gift shops, and more, which is all the more reason to go during your vacation!
2. Granville Island
Granville Island is full of great food, art, shopping, history and more! Personally, I've never enjoyed being inside of a market so much until I visited the Granville Island Market. Fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, cheeses, cooked food to eat, smoothies/fresh juices, and desserts fill up this incredibly sized building. Aside from that, there are really cute shops, galleries, and places for the whole family to enjoy! Want to have a uniquely cool transportation experience? Try taking the Aquabus.
3. Vancouver Lookout
Get a 360 degree view, day or night, overlooking beautiful Vancouver at the Vancouver Lookout! After exploring the shops upon entry, fly up the glass elevator until you reach the observation deck, standing 553.16 feet tall, and learn the history of the buildings around you as you go. Afterwords, don't forget to check out the rotating restaurant!
4. Gastown
Gastown will give you a great downtown experience. Learn the history of Gastown, experience a gallery, go to a restaurant or bar, check out a cannabis cat cafe, and be sure to visit the Gastown Steam Clock before you leave!
make sure to check out any local events going on when you visit
Aurora winter festival
During the holidays, the Aurora Winter Festival is the perfect reason why. This really huge park is full of rides, slides, ice skating, concert performances, food and beverages, unique attractions, colorful lights, music, and more! It is something so worth exploring if you plan on traveling during the winter.
Vancouver Christmas Market
It's always a great idea to go to events while on vacation and experience the fun in a different environment. The Vancouver Christmas Market is definitely one to check out during the holidays. This European-inspired Christmas event is full of vendors with handcrafted gifts, delicious food, beverages, and entertainment. Aside from the still, cold weather, the energy of this place made me feel so warm and happy the entire time!
